Different search engines (Google, MSN, Yahoo etc) analyse page content for relevancy based on their individual ranking algorithms. The most relevant pages rank more highly for a given search phrase in these 'organic' results. Search engine rankings change in response to changes in the search engine's algorithm or modifications to the content of a web page. Optimising your pages is the way to achieve improved search engine rankings and higher volumes of web traffic.
Many search engines display 'sponsored results' where competing sites can outbid each other for the highest placements above or alongside the 'organic' listings. These can be particularly good for advertising a new website, or a limited offer of free shipping. We have a wealth experience of preparing and managing Google AdWords, Yahoo/Overture and Miva (formerly Espotting) campaigns on behalf of our clients.
