Shopping comparison sites.

Google products (formerly froogle) apart, these sites charge a fixed fee per click and generally compare your products against your competitors based on price alone.

Google products, Kelkoo, Pricerunner and Dealtime are so-called shopping comparison sites. Based loosely around the idea of a directory, products are listed by category, and "like" products from different retailers are listed together providing shoppers with the option to evaluate where is the cheapest place to purchase a specific item online.

Google products is the newest but has massive exposure being part of the google group. It has the unique distinction of being FREE to list your products at this time.

Whilst Kelkoo provides Ask Jeeves syndicated shopping search results, pricerunner tends to be much more dilligent in the way that products are directly compared against each other. Dealtime has a large US presence and is growing in the UK - all 4 are different and have their own merits.

The main difference between these and bpc search engine results providers is that the click through price is fixed - though the cost per click can be higher or lower than bpc depending on the keyword or phrase that your product is found under.

An interesting point to bear in mind is that if your site is in a lower position on google / yahoo / lycos etc, being ranked well on the shopping comparison site which has number one position effectively gets you a share of first position by stealth.
